I read a lot of emails from around the world and one of the biggest Questions I see is "How do you tap into the Social Networking sites for business"? I'm here to tell you that there is a Gold Rush happening on the Internet like the one in 1997. That's when all you needed to do as a marketer and make Internet Money was send someone an email about your business and they thought it was cool.

You remember those days when AOL even had a Little mailbox that popped up and said "You've got Mail". If they did that today it would drive you crazy - you've got mail, you've got mail, you've got mail". Back then it was cool to get an email because you just didn't get that many. In today's world that little saying would drive many of us nuts with all the spam mail we get from every angle.

OK let's talk a little about how much traffic is logging to the Networking sites and start from there. Do you realize that Facebook is catching up to the rest of the Social sites? Results found at Alexa, they are a website tracking company we will use them throughout out this article. Myspace gets as many page views as Google in a month. Youtube gets almost twice the page views as Google. Social Network Sites are Doubling every 6 months as a whole. Of everyone that is on the Internet 64% uses Myspace, 29% use Facebook, 35% use Youetube, 27% use Wikipdia. Does that sound like a good sign that there are a lot of eyeballs on the Social Networks? 1 million new users join Facebook every week.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that the Myspace crowd and Facebook crowd are just a bunch of little kids talking about their girl friends or boy friends and what they did last night. Oh no, the new trend is for the older generation to experience the Social Networking Sites. On Myspace half of their members are over 35 years old. Facebook has 100,000 members that are 64 years of age or older. According to Comscore 2/3 of the Entire Internet uses these Sites.

4 Big Keys to remember

• Use Social Networking Sites. Facebook, Myspace, Linkedin, Bebo and Orkut are huge in Eroupe.

• Use the Social Bookmarking sites: Technorati, Stumbleupon, Del.icio, Digg and Reddit are the main sites.

• Use Content Sharing Social sites: Whikipedia, Scribd, twitter, Squidoo and gather to submit articles. These sites get picked up by the search engine crawlers that search for text content to match it to specific Key Words. Helps you get ranked high in The Major Search Engine.

• Use Video sharing Social sites: Youtube, Flicker, Photobucket, Metacafe these sites are your way to 15 minutes of fame and a great way to get picked up by the search engine crawlers for fresh new content.

Bonus Tip Use the Social Blogging network sites: Movabletype, Blogger, Wordpress

Let's talk about Adapters for a minute. Adapters are sites that have morphed into the social networking world. EzineArticles, Cafepress, Topix and Imbd.
